Frequently Asked Questions:

“I’ve just set up my home studio and I’d love some feedback on how it sounds before recording my reel with Voice Booth!”

  • If you have an existing home studio setup, we’re more than happy to provide you some consultation on your rooms acoustics, ambience and recording quality. Just get in-touch via email, and we’ll be happy to help.

"I’ve now got a great sounding reel…what do I do with it?"

  • Marketing is essential. In fact, you need to do a LOT of marketing and promotion to get your demo heard. Approaches might include agent representation, cold calls, snail mail, email, websites, networking, and volunteering. Present your demo reels to advertising agencies, broadcast producers, creative directors, talent agents, production companies, video producers, and even directly to potential clients. Follow-up with your contacts every couple of months, by phone or postcard. Be well aware this is a tough, competitive business and you need to learn the hustle, as well as have the talent. We will share with loads of info on where you can get a start on line all from home.

  • All reels built through VoiceBooth are uploaded onto our VO Demo Reel profile on Soundcloud. If you’ve built a reel with us you can your share your Soundcloud link with potential clients.

“Should I send my demo reel straight to the big agencies?"

  • The demo you receive will be “entry” level and not, in our view, be ready for these top shelf national agents. Be warned you may want to practice your instrument some more before approaching them. This is why we recommend starting off from home and sourcing work without an agent to begin with, an agent will only condor you once you have experience, how do you get that all important experience? Let us guide you

“So…what do I do then with my demo once it's finished?

  • Send your reels to smaller regional production houses, for these though you will generally need your own mic set up as they are small budget. Here’s a few examples of where you can get your reel hosted, plenty more which we will share with you within the Masterclasses.
